Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.
Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they stated.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.
A senior political figure commented the incident left him speechless and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
